Source: Newsweek
... What galls the Tea Party activists is the sense that Romney represents a lost opportunity for their agenda of less government, flatter taxes, and constitutional restraint. Facing a vulnerable president saddled with a bad economy and a crisis in the public sector, they feel stuck with a guy served up by Republican elites who speaks conservatism with an establishment accent. Worse, in this view, Romney seems incapable, or unwilling, to even defend himself, as the Obama campaign machine highlights his offshore bank accounts and his career at Bain Capital.
... Palin would certainly light up the base at the conventionher 2008 vice-presidential acceptance speech was, in terms of partisan enthusiasm, the high-water mark of the McCain campaignbut a jolt of Palin at Romneys convention seems most unlikely. The Romney campaign prides itself on a slavish adherence to script, and Palin cannot be trusted to avoid the impulse to go rogue. That is why, perhaps, the Romney campaign has not asked Palin to speak at the convention nor contacted her about even attending the partys marquee event in Tampa. Queries to the Romney camp about any possible Palin role at the convention meet with a stony silence. Palin does not seem surprised. What can I say? she responded in an email from Alaska, when asked by Newsweek about the convention, just before heading to Michigan to deliver an Obama-thumping speech. Im sure Im not the only one accepting consequences for calling out both sides of the aisle for spending too much money, putting us on the road to bankruptcy, and engaging in crony capitalism.

(2,506 posts)Do they let him speak and make sure all the power goes out as his time slot approaches? They have both a bimbo and a dimwit asshole problem.

(31,706 posts)The closest Mooselini will be to the convention will be from the couch of her trailer on Wasilly. Her relevance in not only this election but in politics in general is long passed. If she could swing votes, damn sure Rmoney would be sucking up to her like he's done with Da Donuld or even Ted Nugent...and she doesn't even rate on that level.
Except for the deadender freepers and deadbeat teabaggers no one takes this cartoon character seriously. Team Rmoney knows that she cost Gramps Florida in '08 and she's more a liability than an asset.

(118,379 posts)after all the work she so selflessly did for the GOP in 2008, after all that -- they just jump in the helicopter and go hunting without her!
And she's not the only one being snubbed. I checked: they're not inviting Spiro Agnew, either. What a bunch of ingrates!

(2,506 posts)She could be the entertainment committee for all those Chrisian right-wing boys who loved her in leather jackets unzipped to the boob crack and butt stuck out, etc, in her last campaign....a new meaning of "come to Jesus"! Her talent is of the porn star nature...so, pack your pole and your tassles, Sarah, and get yourself down to FL..
