Playbook: One of the new leading theories among Senate and House Republicans in Washington is that Congress will combine a three-month stopgap spending bill to keep the government open, the first installment of hurricane relief for Texas and Louisiana and an increase of the federal debt limit. The idea is this package would create an undefeatable constituency across the Capitol.

Republicans doing a good thing?
It means they are going to tie their Draconian cuts to disaster relief in an attempt to make it impossible to vote against.

If they want the "debt" to got down, quit issuing Treasury Notes. Of course the folks who like to buy treasury notes as stable investments, including other countries, don't want us to do that. So just stop with all the drama about the national debt. If they really want to do something about it, quit spending so much on our bloated DOD.
