ReTHUG politicians and their policies will be under attack before the water subsides.
They cannot rescue these people in so many different parts of SE Texas
Sure this is unbelievable water but policies haven't helped.

Port Arthur, Texas, conditions "dire," residents in "survival mode"
Michael Sinegal, who represents Port Arthur on the Jefferson County Commissioners Court, told KFDM he suggested to one woman that she take shelter in her freezer because of how close she lives to a drainage ditch. She had almost 4 feet of water in her home.

Who knows - it could end up in the Caribbean and into Central America, the GOM or on the Atlantic side near the Bahamas and Florida. I'll look at the models from the best experts tomorrow.

Later reported he had not survived.
It's going to be slow job to account for the homeless, and those living in isolated areas.

(26,663 posts)Left 33 years ago. It's even more built out with double, even triple the population, and precious little flood control. Of course, this is huge, but Texans don't believe in wasting no stinkin' money on prevention or preparedness. Now Americans will bail them out once again.

Over 1800 Americans died in Katrina. We are not yet close to that. Time will tell.
Have a nice evening.
