Gator Country is a 15-acre animal preserve in Beaumont, Tex., full of alligators, venomous snakes and a host of other dangerous animals.

As Harvey continues to dump inches and inches of rain on the area, flooding Gator Country, its owner is worried that waters could soon top the fences that are keeping his 350 rescued alligators in the preserve, letting them loose in the community, according to KFDM. But as of last night, none had escaped the enclosure.

Wild Gators are no problem. We have hundreds here in Florida. They are shy, skittish, and really are no bother to humans.

Gators get to be a problem when fed by humans as they associate humans with food. These escaped Gators will now approach humans expecting food. Not good.

However, the most dangerous gators here in Florida are almost always the ones that have become used to people and those that people have been feeding.

I'll take 100 wild gators over one that has been raised by humans.

Was being secretly fed by hotel guests.

It is amazing how tourist here in Florida just cannot help themselves when they see a gator. The almost always look for something to feed them even when they know it is illegal.

On the rare occasion they are issued a citation they inevitably respond by saying something like 'but it was just once'

I have gators in the bayou behind my house. I swim and boat around them all the time. They really don't bother anyone.

The problem gators are the ones that have been feed by humans and associate humans with food. That's the scary thing about these gators. They all probably associate humans with food. When hungry go to the human, he has the raw chicken...

... that they were well fed and won't have a strong inclination to seek humans to feed them.

I live in Florida and worked with gators for several years. I am rarely concerned wiith their presence. We swim and kayak in their waters. With wild gators human attacks tend to occur in circumstances where humans are easily mistaken for their natural prey - splashing at waters edge at dusk being an obvious issue, as is getting too near a mother's den.

But as said these guys have been fed and will be more likely to approach under many circumstances. If their bellies are still fairly full they might be more interested in exploring the open territory.

I'd still be more concerned about the sewage and chemicals than the gators though.

Alec Baldwin is tRump and is attacked on the golf course...dozens of SS agents futilely ram their golf carts into the congregation of gators!

Melania runs (in high heels) across the putting green when the wind blows a flying gator that grabs her by the ? (ya'll help me out here)....

Tillerson is on top of an oil derrick with gators climbing up all sides!

Pense is in a restaurant with a bunch of men throwing tables and chairs against the windows and doors while their wives are in the parking lot getting devoured...he's heard to say, "sorry Hun, you know I'd let you in if the Lord told me to..."

I think it would make a People's Choice award winner!!!

Gator farms usually slaughter at a pretty small size as the quality of the hide is better. But if these are their breeding stock, which can be huge that is a problem.

The gator farms I have been on keep their breeders in an open pond surrounded by a wire fence that a determined gator could easily escape from. Since they have everything they need there is no need for them to leave. They are fed by people throwing rotten chickens to them. It is kind of fun and everyone loves doing it. But you better believe they associate humans with food. And the are all over 11 feet long and bear battle scars from fights. Smaller ones would be killed.
