(21,240 posts)I used to do some financial analysis at an investment bank and we would see trends in our charts of earnings going up or down. And this trend is not is not his friend. I see more of an erosion. Him making an appearance at a photo op taking away valuable resources will not work in his favor. He could have waited until the water started to dissipate?

As far as the trend, I agree--look at the Gallup graph, and the chasm is yawning wider. 60 and 35 used to be his all-time high/low. Now it's the new normal, it seems.

During the Vietnam War, the L.A. Times wondered if readers were actually paying attention to its war coverage. It ran the same story every day for a week on its front page. No one called in about it.
