General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsDU is a political discussion forum
This is not Facebook, this is DU.
The reason this site exists - specifically - is for political discussion.
I can guarantee you that if you are interested in doing something productive to aid flood victims, then your posting, or not posting words on the screen in front of you is probably the least productive use of your time.
If you are interested in discussing politics, then you have come to the right place.
If you are not interested in discussing politics, or if your primary interest is in telling other people discussing politics to shut up - then might I suggest you find a website to play with in your leisure time which is not about politics?
Do you go into bars and tell people to stop drinking? Into casinos and tell people to quit gambling?
Discussing politics is what this site is FOR. If you were unaware of that, you're welcome.

(4,463 posts)... aspects of the site. I especially love the posts and replies that relitigate the primary by scolding people for relitigating the primary. Irony is in abundance.
Yes, the primary is the gift that keeps on giving.

(63,260 posts)but the removed post may or may not have had one of the following as its subject line:
1. "Chickens found to display hive intelligence."
2. "It is possible to survive a nuclear blast by hiding in a vintage refrigerator."
3. "The world will end on a Thursday."
4. "This morning I accidentally put both shoes on the same foot."
5. "Does this look swollen to you?"
6. "Someone alerted on this."
7. "My cousin dances like a drunk falling down an escalator."
8. "Missing puzzle piece found inside curious little monkey."
9. "Donald Trump is a triumph of vaguely human-shaped shit-stacking."

(45,579 posts)Gotta agree, the DU Scold is a pretty funny animal. I have always maintained that some people are just trying to play a big game of "I'm more liberal than you."

(4,463 posts)But you knew that already.
Are you sure you're on the right site?
Did you forget the sarcasm thingy?
I think you're re-litigating the primary, so I'm going to post something mean about (Bernie)(Hillary) to show you how wrong you are and teach you not to re-litigate the primary.
In fact, here are the 7 links about (Bernie)(Hillary) I've posted 27 times previously, three times already in THIS thread.
Did you even read the link(s)?
Why do you (hate)/(love) (America)/(Trump)?
You really should self delete.
If you don't agree with my post, you must be an apologist for (detested group of the day).
Meta. (I'm not really sure what that means or how it applies to your post, but it sounds both high tech and dismissive).
We CAN walk and chew gum at the same time, you know.
Do you have a link? I'm not reading a post without a link.
That link is not a trusted source.
Welcome to my ignore list.
I don't care, and I'll prove it by taking the time to post a reply explaining the very high degree to which I don't care.
Door Buzzard.

(1,002 posts)I only joined DU after the so-called election last November, but I am already all too familiar with all of the above. This place can be a hoot!
PS I'm actually a bot sent here to spread divisiveness within the ranks.

(8,254 posts)all these people getting mad at us for pointing out how the GOP for years has been fuciking over the people of TX by taking their tax money that should have been used to build the main roads above flood level and allowing the GOP Oligarchs to develop all the swamp land around Houston.
Houston has been a GOP Cluster Fuck waiting to happen for years,,,,, who woulda thunk that a storm would flood the Gulf Coast.
I guess they realize we have a right to upset. Every Citizen in the USA will have bear the burden of rebuilding Houston.

(9,866 posts)So glad you said it. It's been impossible to discuss that thing---you know, "politics"---without saying the right proscribed thing.
I really miss how it was a when I first signed up.
Especially not allowed to try to grapple with what would or would not help Democrats get back in power unless you say the exact right set of approved ideas.
No discussion permitted here!!! Get off my lawn!

Actually the pretentious scoldings are my reason for coming here. A close second are the cat pics.
