... "What is off-putting about them is they do not grasp their essential irrelevance," an unnamed long-time Washington insider said ... "They think they are special."
Another added: "Theres nothing more obstructive and distracting and unhelpful than to have a bunch of stupid apolitical family members calling all the shots" ...
"I havent had anything to do with them since they moved," a former friend told the magazine.
"And it is because the day that man <Mr Trump> gave an inaugural speech, what am I going to say? 'What the f*** is wrong with you?' "

(5,815 posts)tRump will never let that happen. He has already made it plain. Any and all involved in his plot to take over the Executive branch and ultimately, everything, will be let go. He will wave his magic wand and voila, they will be free to go. He will even extend his power to himself and laugh at those who think the rule of law still applies. That all changed last November and our country and all we thought it stood for continues to slip slide away. I am not sure anything can save us from this monster.

(5,815 posts)So while we assume he can't and many believe firmly that he can't, he will try anything and everything to avoid the consequences of his actions. He won't mind dragging the Constitution through the mud one bit. Even if he loses the fight in the end (and I certainly hope and believe he will), he is going to put all of us through a special kind of hell.

(869 posts)...because once this whole farce is over, there will ne a severe limit on the power of the president to issue pardons. I know it is a constitutional issue, but pardons are now breaking the checks and balances on the system, and it will, in the end, need to ne addressed.

(51,649 posts)Narcissistic Defense Mechanism. They believe, conscientiously or conscientiously, that they did nothing wrong or bad behavior isn't bad if they do it themselves. I think Jared, Ivanka and many others, especially in politics and business, are narcissists and this becomes part of their psychological make up since they have been doing it most of their lives to various degrees. They believe they do nothing wrong or if they did do something wrong it will not effect them since they are so special.
