When he said tRump speaks for "himself" regarding values.
Don't stop there.
tRump's "values" are those of the Republican Party at large. He polls very high in favorability within that party.
The correct statement, and one Tillerson couldn't say is...
"Trump speaks for the Republican Party and not the country as a whole".
This to me is much more accurate.
Don't let these fuckers separate tRump from his party like this. He is tied to them. Wrap that rope tighter.

(28,136 posts)I wish the media pundits thought like this.
Tillerson is no dummy and I'm convinced he was trying to protect his party.
Sneaky like a fox. He knew we'd all be distracted by the "himself" comment.

(733 posts)Trump was holding his try-outs for SoS. Remember Romney? It was promoted as a game show with contestants coming to grovel before Trump.
But then, out of nowhere, Tillerson is announced as SoS?? He had never met Trump, but with no show of crawling to Trump, he won the Sos. At his confirmation hearings, the world=class CEO did not even bother to do any priming for the hearings. He was content, not even embarrassed, to say he didn't know what Trump's policies were, he didn't even hide his ignorance of basic issues.
His only qualification for SoS: close relationship with Putin.
Was Tillerson put in place to assure Putin that the sanctions against Russia would be lifted? Does this prevent Tillerson from being shit canned by Trump?
Tillerson may have been told by Trump that the job of SoS was a piece of cake, no heavy lifting.
But Tillerson has found that if you lie down with dogs, you wake up with fleas. And lose of your reputation as a world-class CEO.
