Houston Mayor on CNN/KPRC right now

will update as I can

eta: 35 boats, 93 dump trucks, 49 of those today.....several cities have offered help....NYC and LA and Boston and Dallas among others...sending cots and high-water vehicles from these cities....

Houston Police Chief on now....105 still need water rescue.....he's asking people to stay home.....has more high-water rescue vehicles....do not go up into attics....more officers going to brought in to manage......other cities to help HPD......

back to mayor.....thanking all first responders....."yeoman's job".......

now Fire Department chief......standing water extremely dangerous....stay at home....do not drive.....rotating personnel in and out.....state assets in place.....


Homeland Security liaison guy....Level 1 response.....resources from many agencies, praises cooperation....thanks state local and federal partners....

back to mayor....homeless coalition guy (?) on now....

vast majority of homeless off streets and into shelters....

back to mayor.....thanks Red Cross.....thanks members of faith-based communities and churches.....thanks businesses and non-profit agencies.....crisis will last beyond end of rainfall.....

questions taken.....defends decision not to evacuate citing several reasons.....
