One would think that we could roust these deniers. Warming is happening now and will get worsel. Keeping if from being a complete catastrophe is now the challenge. Each day we delay on significant action makes matters worse.
There is no guarantee that the climate will no flip dangerously. The worse may bee sooner than the end of century predictions.

(10,602 posts)We can only guess where a real tipping point might be. Long term projections about climate change could be significantly shorter than we know. There is still time to mitigate the worst results of climate change. We are wasting time with the denial climate.

(10,602 posts)I do many things to try to mitigate the situation. I have owned two Praises. I really am not in despair. I just get disgusted that the population at large seems so anti environment any more. In Denver the huge trucks are getting bigger and bigger and there are more of them every day.
I just wonder if enough people will wake up and demand a different direction. The election of this administration has been disastrous.

Forest fires in Canada; floods in Houston. This IS climate change folks!
Watched Al Gore's new film on Friday. He is such a strong leader on this.

(819 posts)but very upsetting to see the box office numbers. I took the whole family. Why won't people wake up? All they want to spend their money on are stupid hollywood movies. They are perfectly content living in ignorance apparently.

(7,436 posts)The record of homo sapiens shows a species tragically terrible at proactivity, like it doesn't exist at all. Individuals and small groups have shown capability for it but as a whole, we're basically reactive only and not very smart about that either.
If it's any consolation, you likely won't see the worst of the Anthropocene in your lifetime.
