Joe Biden - 'We Are Living Through a Battle for the Soul of This Nation'

The former vice president calls on Americans to do what President Trump has not.

In January of 2009, I stood waiting in Wilmington, Delaware, for a train carrying the first African American elected president of the United States. I was there to join him as vice president on the way to a historic Inauguration. It was a moment of extraordinary hope for our nation—but I couldn’t help thinking about a darker time years before at that very site.

My mind’s eye drifted back to 1968. I could see the flames burning Wilmington, the violence erupting on the news of Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination, the federal troops taking over my city.

I was living history—and reliving it—at the same time. And the images racing through my mind were a vivid demonstration that when it comes to race in America, hope doesn’t travel alone. It’s shadowed by a long trail of violence and hate.

In Charlottesville, that long trail emerged once again into plain view not only for America, but for the whole world to see. The crazed, angry faces illuminated by torches. The chants echoing the same anti-Semitic bile heard across Europe in the 1930s. The neo-Nazis, Klansmen, and white supremacists emerging from dark rooms and remote fields and the anonymity of the web into the bright light of day on the streets of a historically significant American city.

If it wasn’t clear before, it’s clear now: We are living through a battle for the soul of this nation.

5. Joe Biden Hit the Nail on the Head With This One...

Way back at the end of July last year, when I had a consultation with my astrologer in Albuquerque, I requested one of her tri-wheel charts, erected to show secondary progressions, solar arc progressions, and planetary transits to the Sibley natal chart for the United States, cast for election day 2016. And within one minute or so, I gasped in horror as I saw the planetary writing on the wall screaming out at me in no uncertain terms. "OMG - looks like a totalitarian takeover - that means the unthinkable - Donald Trump is going to win."

There were two major, blatant planetary configurations that screamed this out. The first was that transiting Pluto was making a direct opposition to the natal Sun of the US, when one makes the three degree adjustment for equinoctial precession since our country's founding. This was to be a great test of the Soul and self image of our nation (symbolized by the Sun) to purify it of the dark demons - racism, plutocracy, shady power plays in high places, symbolized by Pluto. The 2016 election surely brought out the dark underbelly of our nation - the racists and white supremacists - out of the shadows where they had been lurking.

The other major planetary configuration was solar arc Neptune conjunct secondary progressed Pluto, right conjunct the natal Midheaven (career path) of this nation - showing a widespread deception of the American electorate as well as a violation / infiltration of our political system by hostile forces. The whole presidential campaign of Donald Trump was one big mass deception of the American electorate, aided and supported by plutocratic billionaires as well as hostile foreign powers infiltrating our electoral system.

I was hoping against hope for some three whole months that astrology wouldn't prove right in this case, that somehow, Hillary would win. But once again, very tragically for our nation, what had been so clear in the astrology chart of the US erected for the day of the election proved to be chillingly accurate and correct in portraying the essence of what happened in the 2016 election. And the astrology chart had said it in no uncertain terms.

This is indeed a battle for the very soul of our nation. Hillary's parting words in her presidential campaign were: We're better than this. Maybe we weren't, and we still had to purge, purify and exorcise the demons of our dark side via Donald Trump, acting out what we could not think or reason out by actually going through and living through this national nightmare.

This is also a very dark side or hidden possibility inherent in the disastrous Citizens United Supreme Court decision, which opened the floodgates of corporate dark money into our elections. In his state of the union address, President Obama pointed out - very prophetically now, it seems - that the dark money sources didn't even have to be American in origin. Blinded by their own greed and narrow corporate interests, the Koch brothers, I'm sure, in their support and facilitation of Citizens United, were just thinking of getting more political power for themselves to flagrantly violate environmental regulations and pollute all they want, and not much beyond that. But Citizens United also opened the door for Donald Trump, in hock up to his eyeballs to Russian billionaire oligarchs, who are joined at the hip to Putin and the Kremlin, to be supported by those billionaires in direct opposition to our national interest.

They don't dare to show their faces again I suspect, but then they are not the brightest bulbs. They thought it was ok to come out because of Trump and Trump only. They better think twice now!
