So there's a brewing feud between David Shuster and Joy Reid...

...it's somewhat one-sided at this point, with the venom primarily coming from Shuster. It looks like he's trying to engage her in a Twitter war, but for the most part, she ignores him. Shuster's latest has me shaking my head. How does posting the #DidNaziThatComing hashtage in reference to Gorka "trivialize" the Holocaust? First, Trump's made nazis a part of the daily news cycle. Second....well, Gorka.

It just seems like Shuster is trolling Reid and looking for any little opportunity to snipe at her.

Her tweet:

Joy Reid ?Verified account
@JoyAnnReid

When you get fired on vacation and Kelly yanks your temporary security clearance before you can get back. #Gorked #DidNaziThatComing

Shuster's response:

David Shuster ?Verified account
@DavidShuster

David Shuster Retweeted Joy Reid
Not a Gorka fan. But this is beyond the pale. Trivializing holocaust is wrong. @NBCUniversal @comcast knows better

Twitter responds to Shuster:

I used to love him. He was a regular on "Countdown With Keith Olbermann", as well as a frequent fill-in for Keith. He was also a regular on Stephanie Miller's radio show. Then he turned into a big jerk.

He went after Chelsea Clinton in a very nasty way back in 2008 when he said that Hillary was pimping Chelsea out for her campaign or some nonsense like that. He was suspended by MSNBC after he offered a half-hearted apology to Hillary/Chelsea for his remark.

Hell, Mama Cat Hillary came back at him for going after her cub.

Hillary rips MSNBC's Shuster
By MICHAEL CALDERONE and KENNETH P. VOGEL 02/09/2008 02:39 PM EST

ORONO, Maine — Hillary Rodham Clinton on Saturday morning ripped MSNBC over reporter David Shuster’s suggestion that Chelsea Clinton was “sort of being pimped out” by the campaign.

“I found the remarks incredibly offensive,” Clinton told reporters in this snowy town outside Bangor. Earlier, she sent a letter to NBC brass that called for swift action against Shuster, who was suspended Friday by MSNBC.

“Nothing justifies the kind of debasing language that David Shuster used and no temporary suspension or half-hearted apology is sufficient,” Clinton wrote to NBC News President Steve Capus, who apparently had already called Clinton to personally apologize.

“I would urge you to look at the pattern of behavior on your network that seems to repeatedly lead to this sort of degrading language,” Clinton wrote. “There’s a lot at stake for our country in this election. Surely, you can do your jobs as journalists and commentators and still keep the discourse civil and appropriate.”

NBC did not immediately respond to an e-mailed request for comment.

The letter and harsh rebuke followed similar comments made by her top advisers and came a day after Shuster issued an on-air apology and was suspended.

And I believe Joy was tagged in it as well.

I didn't go back and find the whole conversation. What I saw was the tweet from Joan along the lines of "Come on, David, stop trying to ride to fame on our backs" and Shuster replied with an extremely defensive tweet about how happy and successful he is on his new network (The network is so successful I can't remember the name of it).

I'm guessing he has little patience for intelligent women with strong opinions. We can thank Trump for that. In addition to his love for all things alt-right / neo-nazi, his obvious fear and loathing for anything but "loyal" and subservient women seems to have bestowed some kind of twisted benediction on other weak men who feel the same.

he made some remark about Chelsea being "pimped out" (referencing her working on her mother's campaign).

Disappointing. He used to be a decent broadcast journalist.

I'm gonna side with Joy Reid on this one.

Gorka, Bannon, et al have been called Nazis for awhile now, so NOW he decides this is about the holocaust?

Get over yourself, Schuster.
