This is devastating and to think the rain has days to go.

(111,420 posts)but once this thing rains itself out over the same place for 2-4 days, spinning off tornadoes, that is going to change. People in that part of Texas are not going to want to see rain for the rest of their lives.

(25,723 posts)I don't think it will be as bad as Katrina, but alot of people are going to need rescuing and/or will not be going to the store for awhile.
My son and his wife are up here visiting from Houston. They don't plan to return until the flooding stops. From what I understand this thing will be spewing out rain until Thursday.
Then, there are those whose homes were damaged yesterday. Many evacuated to higher ground, but when they return home, they have to deal with a mess.
