Karl Rove To Obama: Stop Suggesting Romneys A Felon
Sahil Kapur July 15, 2012, 10:50 AM 2020
President Obamas fierce attacks on Mitt Romneys history with Bain Capital hit a nerve with Karl Rove, who on Fox News Sunday simultaneously lashed out at the president and advised him to stop making one of his most explosive allegations: that Romney may be a felon.
Rove, the architect of President George W. Bushs presidential victories, now runs the pro-Republican super PAC American Crossroads, which is spending heavily to help Romney defeat Obama. He took issue with the Obama campaigns suggestion that Romneys SEC disclosure forms in which Romney described himself as managing director at Bain beyond 1999, contrary to his claim that he left that year could make him guilty of a felony.
The fact of the matter is that if the president continues to make this charge this outrageous charge that his campaign had that Mitt Romney is guilty of felonious activity, couldve committed a felony thats a big mistake, Rove said, predicting the line of attack wont help Obama with independent voters.
He called Obama a cheap Chicago pol, accusing him of engaging in gutter politics of the worst Chicago sort. He echoes Romney, who called Obamas claim reckless and absurd, and beneath his dignity.

(20,317 posts)They said if the Obama Administration's claims were true, Romney would be a felon. The implication being that it was all so ludicrous because obviously, Mitt Romney is not a criminal and we should all know that.
So proof emerges that he was in fact deeply involved with Bain after the date he originally claimed, and they immediately shift over to, "it's ludicous to say that constitutes a felony".

Gillespie says Romney retired retroactively from Bain Capital
Source: The Hill
Democrats have raised questions about when exactly Romney left Bain . Romney has said he left in 1999 to oversee preparations for the Salt Lake City Olympics, but SEC documents show him listed as Bains CEO beyond that time.
Gillespie on Sunday sought to clarify the matter, saying that Romney initially thought he would be leaving Bain on a temporary basis, but the challenges of the Olympics led him to retire retroactively.
"There may have been a thought at the time that it could be part time, but it was not part time," Gillespie said.
"He took a left of absence and in fact he ended up not going back at all, and retired retroactively to 1999 as a result," he added. He left a life he loved to go to Salt Lake City and help a country he loves more, and somehow Chicago
is trying to make it something sinister." "

Title: Republican IT Specialist Dies in Plane Crash
Interviewee: Mark Crispin Miller
Karl Roves chief IT consultant, Mike Connellwho was facing subpoena in connection with 2004 Presidential election fraud in Ohiomysteriously died in a private plane crash in 2008. Connell was allegedly the central figure in a longstanding plot to electronically flip votes to Republicans.
In July 2008, Connell was named as a key witness in the case known as King Lincoln Bronzeville Neighborhood Association v. Blackwell, which was filed against Ohio Secretary of State Kenneth J. Blackwell on August 31, 2006 by Columbus attorneys Clifford Arnebeck and Robert Fitrakis. It initially charged Blackwell with racially discriminatory practicesincluding the selective purging of voters from the election rolls and the unequal allocation of voting machines to various districtsand asked for measures to be taken to prevent similar problems during the November 2006 election.
On October 9, 2006, an amended complaint added charges of various forms of ballot rigging as also having the effect of depriving the plaintiffs of their voting rights, including the right to have their votes successfully cast without intimidation, dilution, cancellation or reversal by voting machine or ballot tampering.
Despite Connells efforts to quash his subpoena to testify, he was ordered to appear for a two-hour, closed-door deposition on November 3, 2008, just eighteen hours before the 2008 national election. Though Connell had expressed willingness to testify, he was reticent after receiving threats from Rove.
Arnebeck presents evidence that Karl Rove threatened Connell, cautioning that if Connell didnt take the fall for election fraud in Ohio, Connell would face prosecution for supposed lobby law violations. After this threat, Arnebeck sent letters to the Department of Justice, as well as messages to high-ranking members of the department, seeking protection for Connell and his family from attempts to intimidate. Despite Connells elite status as a top-rung Republican consultant for years, whose firm New Media Communications provided IT services for the Bush-Cheney 2004 campaign, the US Chamber of Commerce, the Republican National Committee, and many Republican candidates and campaigns, witness protection requests went unheeded.
Connell was an experienced pilot. His plane had been recently serviced. He had been in the nations capital on still-unknown business before his single engine plane crashed December 22, 2008 on the way home, just three miles short of the runway in Akron, Ohio. The cause of the crash remains unknown.

Instead of prison, Karl Rove is on our public airwaves fighting for Romney, creating reality as he states:
The aide(Karl Rove) said that guys like me were "in what we call the reality-based community," which he defined as people who "believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality." ... "That's not the way the world really works anymore," he continued. "We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that realityjudiciously, as you willwe'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do."
