Finally getting this asshole Arpaio convicted was a people's victory--Trump is a racist who supports racists. His supporters are racist.
I'm tired of being gaslit about how nice folx like Trump and we should be so understanding. I'm tired of people who say Clinton would have done everything Trump is doing.
Arpaio being pardoned is going to empower every racist person in authority.
Tonight, Trump also indicated that he's serious about going forward with his ban on trans people serving. There is no way anyone can equate the two sides, GOP and Dem. If you didn't care about Trump winning, you are not my ally.
If you voted in a way that put vulnerable people at risk, you are complicit.

(61,710 posts)The transgender ban is stinking up my brain right now. I wish a few hundred thousand soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines would stick up for their friends and coworkers and declare they are transgendered.

What is a supportive soldier going to do by declaring they too are trans? Not get treatment, and not get recruited?

(3,734 posts)That's what I kept hearing until very recently. I've also heard, and still hear, that Trump is enabling racists and emboldening white supremacists and behaving the way fascists behave. Wrong, people! He IS ALL OF THOSE THINGS!!!!

His whole administration is or at least complisit ... I think Kelly is kicking out the oddballs so the real fascists can take over. God help us.

(404 posts)The party of the white supremacist cis male. There needs to be a tsunami of truth that needs to be pummeled into their senses. Bannon is but a symptom of the disease of capitalism, white nationalism, and so-called American exceptionalism, which needs to be OBLITERATED if we are to have ANY chance at saving humanity and this planet from utter destruction.

(404 posts)There should be absolutely NO reason why ANY Republican be allowed to even show up in public without the SAME passion that we showed against the white supremacists in Charlottesville. There should NEVER be freedom of speech, and in extension, NEVER be any legitimate political discourse that these cretins take in order to spew their absolute anti-humanity vitriol on our children.
As President Obama has eloquently stated about arguing with Republicans...GET IN THEIR FACE!!

(10,893 posts)doesn't make sense to me, considering the fact that not many people want to join the military in the first place. The smart thing to do for the sake of preserving a strong military would be to encourage more people to enlist, not to ban people. Then again, the current occupant of the Oval Office isn't exactly smart.
