(51,651 posts)has a seawall of 17 feet and the entire place was raised 17 feet after the 1900 hurricane (I googled it yesterday). Therefore I would think that their main concern is the storm surge. The other islands and areas of TX should be worried about the rains mostly.

I am heartsick that they chose to stay.

From my connected friends....I understand that they have moved all of the NICU babies in the areas affected to Northern areas....at least two hospitals in Dallas have accepted.
