Saw an interview with a Fema head this morning.

I hope he was right. A part of me wants to see a miserable failure just to expose Trump as the incompetent boob he is but I would rather as few as possible are harmed even if it makes Trump look good.

I have family down there. My mom just left Brownsville. Thank the good Lord almighty. I have family in Houston, Galveston, Edinburg and McAllen. It's going to be a chaotic next few days.

hurricane-proof. We have a lot of gullies and recessed land to collect the water. Often, we will have a lake in our back yard that never reaches the condo because of a lot of majorly recessed land. In a day or two, the water is usually evaporated. We have had a few flash floods but they only last for a few hours. In hurricane season, you always have extra water, peanut butter, tuna, flashlights on hand. We pretty much know the drill. A lot of Florida is like this. It surprises me that a lot of Texas seems to be unprepared. Thank gawd we had a few Democratic governors and a RINO governor (Crist) who gave a crap, I guess. If we would have had all Repubs, I shudder to think about what this state would be like. That bastard Rick Scott would just as soon have all the Dem areas swept off into the sea.

The North Texas coast is frequently hit. I'm sure they are prepared.

South Texas from Corpus to Brownsville is extremely rural (King Ranch country)
It also is not frequently hit.

This is the first major hurricane to hit the Coastal Bend since 1970. Although, there have been numerous smaller storms.

Gilbert was a quite a nail biter. I remember everyone was freaking out and I live in San Antonio. I moved here in 1982, so I don't recall strong hurricanes prior to Gilbert.
