I just wonder how many in Texans are glued to their weather stations right now?
I sincerely hope that the storm approaching the East Coast of Texas takes a U Turn...
But... It amazes me how many in our population think weather science is just a random sort of thing

What's the alternative ? Going back to the Middle Ages and praying to God ? How stupid can one be.

(206,676 posts)The most important weather prediction ever was for D-Day. Eisenhower relied on it. And I sure hope Harvey never makes landfall too.

It makes it impossible for them to conceptualize what the science is actually trying to tell them about climate.

that climate change is a hoax.
that tax cuts for the rich will "trickle down" to people who work for a living.
that a five-time Draft Dodger with a history of lying is fit to command our sons and daughters in uniform serving the nation.
that they are "special" and will be "lifted body and soul" high above the freaking, stinking mess that they themselves have created on earth, and not have to deal with it like ordinary American citizens.
republicans must stop lying to Americans. It's way past time.
