Should grovel and mortify themselves and accept their responsibility for the evil that has befallen our world.
I will make exceptions for those too young to vote, non-US citizens, former felons in certain states, and others with a legitimate reason.
This isn't about anyone's past actions. Thiis is about recognizing the need for unity.

(7,820 posts)Did so even though she was not my choice in the primaries, and I live in a state she won by 20 points. This shit? Not helpful. Not conducive to unity. Makes me less proud of that vote, not more. Quit fighting the fucking primaries, cause that's what this post is *really* about.

(51,794 posts)If we don't make it clear that was not ok, they might do it again.
And why would someone shaming these Trump enablers make you "less proud" of voting for Hillary??

(252 posts)Right, I just don't get how you'll advance for unity while keep saying "those who didn't vote for Hillary are Horsemen of the Apocalypse". It's not as simple as that. There's a conservative wave worldwide, a global phenomenon of praising "outsiders" in the politics, people are getting fed up with "traditional politics" and feeling that representative democracies - worldwide - are not truly representative of the popular will. The real problems is not "not enough people voted for Hillary". The real problem is too many people voting for a lunatic like Trump.

(51,794 posts)There is the rather pervasive Putin propaganda effort against democracies. I hope you are not confusing the two.

Populism leads to catastrophe and human misery whenever such movements gain power. And both extremes feed one another at the expense of liberalism.

(5,803 posts)Conservatives in other countries are getting their asses handed to them. The Dutch and French beat the conservatives despite the Russians because they had the U.S. as a big warning about the massive hacking and propaganda war.
That is the real problem. The cyber war elephant in the room that isn't getting addressed. Trump didn't win this election. The results were tampered with. The hacking and propaganda were out of control. And Hillary still won the popular vote because they could only alter states where KGOP was in control.
We are at war with Russia whether anyone will come out and blatantly say it or not. There is even speculation that they are hacking our military gps systems and behind our recent military vessel losses.
It really is as simple as "that". There was a clear choice last election. No making excuses at this point. I posted elsewhere a long list of exactly what it was Trump voters voted for.
Our only hope going forward is election reform including hand counts, voting holiday, end to rigged gerrymandering and an end to racist voting laws.

(7,911 posts)...until Hillary won the nomination. Then I supported her and voted for her. That was the only sane thing to do.

(811 posts)And have voted for the Democratic candidate in every race in every election without fail since I became eligible to vote in 1976. And worked for RFK at 10 and McGovern at 14 before I had the vote.
I'm a proud Democrat who supports unity with Democrats, but one who is speptical about false friends in our midsts with whom there are no grounds for reconciliation.

(1,180 posts)I supported Bernie, voted for HRC, but come on...get over it. You can't change History, but you can learn from it. Bashing potential voters now for their 2016 vote isn't going to accomplish anything but make you feel better. 2018 is coming fast and if we don't reach out and explain to the masses why they should vote Dem, we're going to lose...again. And, it just can't be the anti-Trump campaign, that's a loser.
