DreamHost, currently fighting the DOJ in court, just had Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack

The DreamHost site, as well as the DreamHost Status site, is down. My site is down. All of my clients' sites are down.

I'm not a tinfoil hat kind of guy, but since they are engaged in a legal battle with the DOJ regarding a request to release the names, IP addresses, and personal information of over 1,000,000 visitors to an anti-Trump site, you have to wonder.

DreamHost Status?
@dhstatus

Our engineers have identified the cause of the DNS degradation as a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack... http://www.dreamhoststatus.com

russian digibags seem to be everywhere in support of the republican Draft-Dodger-in-Chief and his cabal of republican TreasonWeasels. this could be more of their darkside pissing on American democracy.

that DH is / was down (they've since canceled their account) due to hosting the ragingstorm / nazi site that has been playing hot potatoes with their hosting provider.

DH has a long reputation as a solid, good choice in the shared hosting world. They also have a long history of allowing an speech that is legal in the US to be on their servers. They canceled the Nazi site not due to content, but due to the fact it was effecting other customers.
