I've been keeping up with this since they're out there. The port of Galveston is currently closed. You may be spending a few more days at sea before you can safely port.

I generally cruise with them but had to be back in Dallas for College Football season. They are old friends from a website known as Ccruisecritic.com where you can meet people online who are on your cruise. Oh well it could be worse-headed for Cozumel tomorrow. May main concern is my car in Galveston although I have (somewhat) elevated parking

And I'm preparing and WE aren't even going to get anywhere near the worst of it. I am usually very intuitive and I have a very bad feeling about this one. I would love to be wrong. I have many good friends in Corpus, Brownsville and Houston.

I hope people are heeding the warnings and taking proper precautions. This is not a time for anyone to try to be a hero. Mother Nature always wins.

Everyone, please be safe!!!

in some of the warmest water near the US coast. Plenty of time to fuel this storm into a cat. 3 storm. Please pay attention to the warnings and orders to evacuate! This is not a drill. Some place along the Texas Gulf Coast is going to have a big problem very soon. Find out if you're in its path and act accordingly.

The company I was working with at the time was there a couple of days after it hit MS and LA- It was the worse devastation I had ever seen from a hurricane. The memory of that will never leave my mind was the landfill for all of the dead animals. And the smell off I-10 was that of rotting flesh for months.

Btw I live in NC and we have had our share of catastrophic storms.
