Listening to a forum on lowering healthcare costs on C-Span~ you can tell the healthcare providers
WANT Obamacare. They are talking about how to lower healthcare costs at the state level, speaking to a Governor's convention.
They want to coordinate care.
Reduce admissions. Reward healthy outcomes, not volume.
Change gears by concentrating on well care, not sick care.
Provide primary care - no one wants to go to the emergency rooms.
Primary Care, Emergency Care, Long Term Care, Nursing homes all working together for the wellness of the patient.
I wont bore you with the details, but there are community health workers that are figuring this out and are trying to teach these Governors how to change their way of thinking. These providers are getting it done. And they are showing charts on how doing all this has already saved states money.
Listening to them, is like listening to what President Obama has been saying over the last 3 years.
These gopers running around with their pants on fire about not wanting Obamacare, not wanting to expand medicare/medicaid benefits in their states are most likely going to hear about it from the healthcare providers. These people want it.
My biggest fear is this is going to go right over the heads of Governors like mine, Brewer, the Perry's, the Walkers, etc.
They obviously don't get it. The governors think that because there has been development in healthcare procedures that healthcare is great. You should hear their stupid questions!!
And yes, I am that big of a wonk that I actually find this interesting on a Saturday nite.
