Moments after he misquoted his own defense of those who marched with neo-Nazis and white supremacists during his Phoenix rally Tuesday night, President Trump lamented CNNs decision to fire his most loyal pundit, Jeffrey Lord, for tweeting Sieg heil at the president of Media Matters. They fired Jeffrey Lord, poor Jeffrey, the president said as he complained about coverage by the cable-TV network. I guess he was getting a little bit fed up and was fighting back a little too hard. Lord, who never apologized for what he called a joke tweet, is reportedly in talks to join Breitbart News.

The comment at the time drew sharp condemnations from across the political spectrum, with Republicans and Democrats saying the president suggested a moral equivalence between the neo-Nazis and the counterprotesters.

(16,104 posts)that deplorable, racist hate speech which incites violence and murder is free speech and should be protected under the First Amendment.
"Efforts and actions to stifle hate speech is the work of the fascist Nazi liberal Democratic Party."
This is being promoted all the way to the top of the Republican Party, and this narrative is what got Lord fired.
According to the part-time occupant of the White House, even outright lies should be protected speech!
