This weekend and the end of last week are all about protests, monuments, dumbass morons showing their asses in public and the like. It's been tons of fun, and we've all taken a bit of a break from worrying about things we shouldn't forget to worry about, like:
1. North Korea - We're starting joint military exercises with South Korea on Monday. Kim Jong Un is pissed off as can be about that. Maybe we'd better keep an eye on that situation this coming week. There could be fireworks. Stand well back!
2. Camp David and Afghanistan - Apparently, PINO Trump has made some sort of decision about what to do in Afghanistan, but General Mattis and others are waiting to let The Donald announce what that decision was. We don't know yet. I think a bit of concern about that is in order.
3. The Trump Administration Is Shutting Things Down - Advisory boards and commissions are being closed down, one-by-one and we're not hearing a lot about it. This past week, a climate change group and an advisory board on domestic terrorism have quietly become dust. Apparently PINO Trump doesn't want advice about such things.
4. Bannon's Departure - Good riddance to Stevereno, but keep an eye on him. He's going to be stirring up the light of intellect and strong of hatred from his new throne at Breitbart. Jarvanka are the first to be in his sights, and it could get nasty.
5. The Russia Thing and Mueller - It's been all quiet on the Mueller front, since no leaks have come out about where the investigation is headed. Don't let's forget about that, please. We may learn more before too long.
There's lots more to think about, as well. As the Ruffians on the Right go back into their cover and pull their hoods up, let's not forget all the other things that are important as we go into the coming week.

(47,580 posts)they will have to vote on raising the debt ceiling.
I've read that if there is a shutdown, it will affect everything, including SS payments.
Yes, we depend on SS payments but think that we could manage missing one month. But what will all the deplorabbles who are dependent on disability payments do?
Will this change their mind? I doubt. They will blame the Democrats

(146,350 posts)Not my kind of humor. There were sides to Jerry Lewis that were very, very strange, too.
Still, he was very popular in France, I hear.

RIP for when I found him funny sitting in for Paar.

(146,350 posts)stop Trump from spoiling a great deal in the meantime. We need to maintain our focus on what he does from day to day. Mueller may be the ultimate solution, but we may not get that for months.
