Indiana State Fair asks vendors to not sell Confederate flag merchandise

The Indiana State Fair contacted fair vendors this week to ask them to stop selling Confederate flag merchandise.

The request, made in person from a fair official Wednesday, came after a guest complained about Confederate flag items for sale at a leather vendor.

"The input that we get from our fair guests is important to us," Indiana State Fair Communications Manager Sharon Smith said. "We requested that, in light of current events, this type of item be removed. The majority of...vendors didn't have any items, and were very forthcoming that they didn't intend to carry any."

The fair doesn't have a formal policy that outlines the use of the Confederate flag on fair grounds, Smith said. But all vendors must sign a contract that allows fair officials to remove "items that are deemed offensive" ...

Really? From my understanding the state supported the union. It makes it pretty clear what these flag sales are about.

2. Seriously? Indiana has been one of the most racist states ever

At one point, every major city and town, the governorship, the state leg, and all Congressional members were KKK. The amount of sundown towns they had was mindblowing. They are still notorious for redlining and being segregated.
