Stolperstein for the US

Ok,

So, removing the memorials removes "bad history", but no one ever talks about adding in memorials which add in the missing history.

There is this thing in Germany called Stolperstein which are used to help raise awareness for the Jewish "everyman" who lost a home and business during the Nazi hellstorm. (See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stolperstein)

For those not clicking the link Stolperstein are cobble stones which raise up slightly to cause someone to look at it to avoid tripping. On it is the name of a person to memorialize.

What about adding the equivalent of Stolperstein for the US - areas where there Blacks were lynched, where Blacks were sold into slavery, etc.? Maybe expand to include other groups such as the homes of Japanese who lost their homes and businesses during WW2?

How would this work?

Ie, for instance, can we add them around some monument which is not removed? Or keep General Lee and add them around his statue? I think it would be very powerful. A way to redirect and repurpose these artifacts to an older time.
