you kinda grow a little apart because well, you're just not as exciting or excited anymore and then your spouse does something that makes you suddenly fall in love with them all over again?
That's how I feel about President Obama right now.

(42,001 posts)It's just a hard damn job and there's a lot of sausage making. But he still loves you and wants to take care of you.
And, he's hot.

(32,723 posts)I picture a kid sneaking into their parents room and looking in the master bathroom and then breathing a sigh of relief to discover there aren't two tubs in there so they know their parents aren't having sex...

(4,254 posts)but imagine we lived with him and we had to put up with lousy relatives who would not carry their weight, who always whined and caused so many problems (congress).....
That does put a strain on a marriage but when you go off together without the whiny crappy relatives it brings back that wonderful feeling.

(26,219 posts)I started to file when the econ team was announced in Nov '08, but held out thinking it might work in the long run. Still much to do, and I am still on board. Its been a long 3.5 years, but this week has been the best week since Nov 4, 2008.

(999 posts)I have been together with the same women for 25 years and married for 17. I do understand the analogy but I have never fallen out of love with my wife. At the same tim I have never lost my belief in Obama. Maybe I am a fool but I never had any doubts abouts the republicans and thier distain for Democrats and Obama in particulat. Many of fellow DU'ER have felt bwtrayed but my question is this what did you expect, he came from the senate which is polite and dignified. Not the house. Obama has done the best he could do and we as "Democrats" ahoyld do our best to ensure that he is re-elected. Soery for the rant I have been a reader since 2004 and I dont post much but I truly believe that this election sets the furure for my three childten.

(53,410 posts)And it's not about not loving your spouse. It's about going from just loving to that wonderful feeling of falling in love all over again. It's about remembering why you love your spouse.
