Trump tweeting that removing "beautiful" statues is ripping apart our history and culture

Sad to see the history and culture of our great country being ripped apart with the removal of our beautiful statues and monuments. You.....

...can't change history, but you can learn from it. Robert E Lee, Stonewall Jackson - who's next, Washington, Jefferson? So foolish! Also...

...the beauty that is being taken out of our cities, towns and parks will be greatly missed and never able to be comparably replaced!

Just edited this to add the third tweet, which might be his last on this subject for a while. If not, I'll add the others later.

With that third tweet, he's now apparently launched into the aesthetic pro-Confederate-monument argument. Because, apparently, nothing conveys beauty to Trump like a statue of some Confederate who fought for the "right" to enslave, abuse, and even kill other human beings as property.

How the descendants of slaves and victims of segregation and discrimination are made to feel by these "beautiful statutes and monuments"?

Minds Lee and Jackson were at NYMA, but chooses to forget just what they were fighting for.

Benedict Arnold was brilliant too. And still a traitor.

Let's stop pretending that we weren't aware that many of our friends were closet racists. None of this should be surprising us.

Maybe someday we will look back and realize that Trump is like the head of an infested pustule. It's ugly as hell as it erupts in the open, but that's the only way to clean out the infection.
