(26,180 posts)They especially failed the kids Friday night on the Lawn. Foggy Bottom is just a couple hours away, and I think the FBI needs to come and do some training.
The VSP and NG were absolutely terrible on Saturday, and THAT needs to be looked at.
However, the Gov is right: teh Nazis were better armed than the LEOs.

(13,111 posts)So is he saying the police were scared off by the threat?

(16,423 posts)That's weird, because the cops love to kill people and give the excuse that they "feared for their lives."

(4,407 posts)now we have legal militias of evil people better armed than law enforcement.
When did we give up on gun control?

(6,324 posts)Looking at the pics, most don't have firearms at all.
About 6 "militia" dudes wearing made in China tactical gear with guns showed up early and seemed to have disappeared by the time things got violent.
Most of those guys in the Trump uniform had such tight fitting white polo shirts that and handguns carried concealed would be obviously printing, you don't see it.
The State and local police leadership bungled the handling of this and now he is looking for excuses.
And no- they don't have better equipment than the State Police. It's not true, and if he is claiming it is he is essentially admitting negligence on his part in failing to equip his police.

(4,835 posts)And it doesn't have to be that high - 10-20 percent sounds scary to me!
Wonder where he came up with that?
I wonder if he really meant something like - "80% had better equipment than our guys"
Or "80% of the people displaying weapons had semi-autos"
