Help me out -- looking for quotes of center-lefties condemning antifa . .

What I read online tells me that, on the whole, the US center-left denounces antifas as thugs and punks. What I haven't been able to do is come up with references to anyone of note -- commentators or politicians -- saying so.

Recommendations?

7. It's time to acknowledge that antifas are no friend to progressives/Dems

Hating hatred is not enough.

To 'defend antifas unreservedly' would be to ignore too much that is destructive and unhelpful in anyone's struggle for justice.

Hating Nazis and white supremacists isn't enough.

On edit: My 'they' refers specifically to today's antifa, not the less-dodgy anti-fascists of history.

and a head of the United Church of Christ who both were present at the rally both said Antifa literally saved their lives from white supremacist marchers who had begun to attack the clergy who were present.

Not a chance I am throwing Antifa under the bus right now.

Bully for them. Me too. That doesn't forgive their riotous behavior all the other times.

"The center" and saying that centrists sound like Trunp.
It's basically revenge of the horseshoe theory. Probably pissed Trump co-opted the schtick about jobs ending racism. That's gotta sting.

Excerpt:

The violent clashes between a pro-Trump demonstration and counterprotesters on April 15 turned Berkeley, Calif., into a battleground of activists on the right and left. On a day when dozens were arrested and injured — one man with a weaponized U-lock stood out.

Many threw punches. He drew blood.

One attack was captured in a profanity-filled video later posted to YouTube. The bike lock flashes through the air and smashes into a man’s head with a thunk.
