I won't link it as it violates the ToS but here is the alleged Anonymous post on the site:

They are a very loosely banded group of hackers- so loose they are not really just one group - and for the chan image sites, anyone there is called anonymous - one anon does not know what another one does.

But the wording (see posts #10 and #12) gave it away after I thought about it. Its is certainly a hoax. The good news is that Anonymous is still going after them in different, more productive ways.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - A prominent white nationalist website that promoted a Virginia rally that ended in deadly violence Saturday is losing its internet domain host.

GoDaddy tweeted late Sunday night that it has given the Daily Stormer 24 hours to move its domain to another provider because the site has violated GoDaddy's terms of service.

GoDaddy spokesman Dan Race tells the New York Daily News that the Daily Stormer violated its terms of service by labeling a woman killed in an attack at the event in Charlottesville "fat" and "childless." Heather Heyer was killed Saturday when police say a man plowed his car into a group of demonstrators protesting the white nationalist rally.

16. GoDaddy pulled the sites DNS and is giving them 24hrs to get they stuff off GoDaddy.

When Anonymous takes down a site they do not leave the contribution information.

My belief is that the owner posted the notice so the blame for the site going down could be reflected elsewhere.

No noe wants to host Stormer or be their DNS register.
