College Republicans president spotted in Charlottesville: They have no proof that Im a racist

"The president of Washington State University’s chapter of the College Republicans says that he’s being unfairly maligned after he was photographed participating in the white supremacist demonstrations in Charlottesville, VA over the weekend.

KREM Channel 2’s Amanda Roley spoke to James Allsup after his photo was identified in the #GoodNightAltRight Twitter campaign, which circulated photos of the white supremacists — including neo-Nazi groups, the Ku Klux Klan and “truckloads of skinheads” — who converged on Charlottesville purportedly to protest the removal of a statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee from a municipal park.

The “Unite the Right” march quickly turned into a melee that ended with the death of a 32-year-old anti-fascist protester and the injury of at least 19 others after a 20-year-old neo-Nazi rammed his car into a group of counter-demonstrators."

...............

"Allsup says he identifies as a “paleoconservative” and “right-wing libertarian,” not as white supremacist or alt-right, a term that he feels is a slur."

Paleoconservatism is a neologism created by those following within that movement to distinguish their so-called "traditional" values from the neoconservative ones. Their policies are based on the idea that moar capitalism and xenophobia can solve everything, but they reject globalism and multiculturalism, i.e. the last, lingering progressive goals of the New Right.

The movement is characterized by a strong dose of religious conservatism (including homophobia), nationalism, isolationism, and economic protectionism comprises its ideological content. Most paleoconservatives are against immigration, modern economic theory, and any intervention by the US anywhere, and have little regard for any benefits of an egalitarian society. Their economic views are more likely to tend toward distributism and producerism than modern capitalism, although there is a contingent of ultra-capitalist Austrian schoolers as well. They claim to stress rigid "traditionalism," a sense of self gained from understanding their personal and cultural heritage, and being "deeply rooted" in history and place. However, their definition of that history is a bit off.

The most notable living paleoconservative is Patrick Buchanan, though it is has seen a comeback with Donald Trump. It appears paleoconservative types have increasingly shifted towards, or have overlap with, the increasingly powerful Alt-Right.

"The Republican Party is broad and inclusive. It represents many streams of opinion and many points of view.

You are judged by the company you keep. This man did not walk out of his home and get caught up in that march. He traveled across the country. Who would do that if they were not supportive?? The dogs he laid down with were infested with fleas.
