Once the genie is out of the bottle...

..and once the seeds of hatred are permitted to sprout, they can be very difficult to contain.

The issue of race has always been the albatross around the neck of America and has been the greatest challenge to our survival as a nation.

Thru the years, we have had statesmen and wise politicians that have tried to contain the issue by passing laws that promised equality and opportunity and anti-discrimination. But, the issue has never been put totally to rest. Perhaps it never will? It is a daily constant in our history.

The seeds of hatred were permitted to grow in Charlottesville yesterday and the day before. When the neo-Nazis marched with their Tiki torches down to a church and intimidated the citizens of that town with threat of violence and taunts of white supremacy and hatred, it could have been nipped in the bud at that time. But, it continued to fester and grow until the next day and we see the results that were sprouted.

I dread going to work tomorrow. I am not sure I can, or even should be silent, when someone inevitably celebrates the cowardly dick skin as a hero.
