Tough talk. Where are the other so called responsible Republicans?

(53,968 posts)He still won't do anything about Bannon, Gorka, Miller and all the other nazis in trumps admin.
I think Painter will work behind the scenes though through the Republican establishment, which trump is not a part of.

(90,799 posts)Someone needs to tell him that his fellow republicans don't agree with him.
Otherwise, why pander to racists all those years? And the GOP has pandered to them for years and years.
The GOP doesn't get to proclaim their innocence now.
That said, Painter did seem outraged and I believe he really is.

(7,768 posts)I'm afraid the hate and racism is now too entrenched and embedded in the Repub party. This isn't your father's Republican Party anymore. They're now openly carrying confederate flags and wearing T-shirts emblazoned with swastikas.

The ones that are demanding an all out nuclear war against NK.
The Nazis marching in Virginia. They have declared war on all republicans not willing to sell out America to worldwide fascism.

I think Mr. Painter is fighting an uphill battle to save the Republican Party. Some "ethical" Republicans like him have already abandoned the party as a lost cause.

I immediately turned off CNN. That was the stupidest thing to say when everyone knows he is the one who stirred this all up.

Since January 2017, he has been involved in the CREW lawsuit against President Donald Trump (CREW v. Trump). The suit alleges that Trump is in violation of the U.S. Constitution's emoluments clause, due to his refusal to sell assets and put others in a blind trust.

(12,448 posts)MANY Republicans should have spoken out long before this. Trump is in the White House because they failed to condemn bigotry of all kinds. They were silent when Trump promised the Deplorables (actually that term is too kind for them) that he'd make their bail if they attacked people protesting at his rallies.
And now, because of that, we have Charlottesville.
