Trump said, "North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States. They will be met with the fire and fury like the world has never seen.
N K is testing its missiles and such. But I didn't catch that N K made a direct threat against the U S. Did the little dictator say something threatening? Or shoot the missiles toward the U S?

(15,249 posts)That would be a direct attack on the United States possibly requiring massive retaliation. There is no way to prove it to be a test. Even if the warhead does not hit land a high altitude explosion could cripple infrastructure by EMP pulse though out South East Asia.

(37,648 posts)As opposed to the things Iran has done, or Russia? It may be, but I don't know if I'd regard a movie by a little country's dictator to look big to his people as a real threat. It might be. But I'd think there'd have to be more than that to threaten to nuke his country.
There's the old Korean war, so there's that.
Just wondering what others consider a threat. The fact that his missile system is advancing quickly has gotten everyone nervous.

(18,857 posts)Do you consider a propaganda video showing NK nuking Washington DC a threat?
As has been pointed out, Guam has the same status as Hawaii did in 1941

(37,648 posts)Not sure if a propaganda video rises to the level of a real threat. It's a tiny country full of blowhard tiny leaders trying to look big to the people of the country. It's alarming, but not sure that's a real threat, since it would be suicide, and N K knows it.
It hasn't threatened Guam, that I've seen. It threatened to bomb waters near Guam, near where a U S base is.
N K hasn't actually done as much as Russia and Iran have. Russia has actually invaded other countries & killed journalists. Iran has a history of kidnapping and killing Americans and others, as well as aggression against its neighbors.
There's the history of N K against S K.
