2. Yeah, Orrex and his friend got it right.

It's a bit bigger than most listed on the net (7cm across, while around 5cm seems more normal) but the design is almost identical to one on the net. The daughter of a friend who works in retail also identified it as that just a few minutes later.

I haven't cut any of the wires on it, just in case the alarm component is still working after all. And I haven't thrown it away yet, but I don't worry about any more, now we know what it is.
