Pays Kim very well to cool down the rhetoric and drops a warning shot of embarrassing intel on Trump to get him to cool down.

China will not allow the US and North Korea to start shooting at each other with nuclear weapons in its own front yard," said Zhang. Security is the utmost priority for Chinese leadership, he added, and Beijing fears that a military conflict could result in much of its own country being massively contaminated by nuclear fallout.

China and the United States remember the Korean War differently. For the United States, the Korean War represents a tie but for China, the war represents a remarkable victory over imperialism in the face of overwhelming odds. I would not bet our lives on the Chinese military remaining on the sidelines. MacArthur made this bet in 1950 and got his ass kicked.

It would not surprise me, now that you mention it, that some government will figure out a way to assassinate him. Japan, South Korea, China, US - take your pick.

That's who tried to kill Hitler. His generals know how foolish it is getting into a fight with the US.

If we pass along hints to Kim that his generals are working with us to kill him, we might send him into a rage of general killing. That would force the generals to act in their own self defense to get rid of him before he gets rid of them.

no way in my opinion will china stop him. China is having problems with USA now with there island. i think this is crazy what trump thinks and if it's nuclear then it's over. that's my gut feeling. (gotta hope there is somebody that stops trump)

...once China decides they can't control him. Fat boy managed to kill his brother, China's Ace in the hole, but you can bet that isn't their only Ace in the hole. Remember, his sister briefly took control when he underwent an operation.

A statement of an operation....oh and oops, there was complications and he's either dead or in some "long term rehab".

Plus there is always the possibility his "brother", a look alike double, takes the reigns too.

ostensibly to "protect" Kim, but making sure in the process to get rid of his nukes. The US air attacks would be the trigger for this to happen. They seem to want to protect his regime, sans nukes (see below)

They don't want millions of starving, brainwashed North Koreans streaming across their border as refugees because they see China as the lesser of two evils thanks to their heavy brainwashing.

The idea of China moving in and taking control would mean China had to now feed them all, and with North Korea in the midst of a sever drought that is going to bring massive famine this winter that would be a daunting task. Now, they may judge it's easier to do that than try and stem the flow of starving refugees, but knowing China they are more likely to just better seal the border and let the North Koreans starve.

The Chinese will not want to validate Trump's bluster. They have an interest in weakening US influence in the Far East.
