. . . equating Kaepernick's situation to that of a "slave" -- Kaepernick made $11.9 million in guaranteed money in 2016 -- is stupid, if not offensive.

Throwing around rhetoric of this type makes a sensible discussion of this issue difficult.

From what I read, Kaepernick has been blackballed from most (all?) NFL teams. When will that black guy with wild hair learn how to behave for his masters?

That brought harm to the organization. I would bet that guy is going to find it difficult to get another job for a tech company.

I'm sure the 49ers and other NFL team owners can make a similar argument regarding Kaepernick.

There are those who argue that Damore shouldn't have been fired but rather that Google could have used this as an opportunity to address a serious issue in Silicon Valley.

That said, Damore was arguing that women as a population are genetically wired in such a way that they are not as competent as men in tech environments. That's vile.

Kaepernick was making a statement that police should stop killing black people. Maybe not the right place for it, but a more noble protest.

I personally think he is a fool for not voting.

But there is a lot hypocrisy with those who hate him for protesting . And it has to do with race.

He is held to higher standards than trump.
