(37,428 posts)Dubya and Cheney served their class, who profited from war.
Trump is only interested in himself, so his agenda will only serve him, and in any case his presidency isn't built to last. I think he won't rack up a big body count.

(24,461 posts)Trust me, once Kremlin Donny Tovarich gets ahold of something, he'll fuck it up almost instantly.
And our failure to prosecute W for war crimes or Reagone for high treason will almost assure that whatever criminality Schtroumpf pulls, he'll get away with it.

We could be looking at an IRL Adam Sutler in 2020 or 2024.

(13,218 posts)We did NOT worry about w dropping a nuclear bomb. I don't recall us discussing this possibility where w was concerned. Now a lot of us didn't want him to go to war but we meant "conventional" war. As I say we would have horrified to the max had someone mentioned nuclear.
Proud Liberal Dem
(24,450 posts)and backing out of the Agreed Framework that Clinton had worked out with NK is at least partially why we are where we are with NK today. I believe that NK became an actual nuclear power on his watch, in fact. If Trump/GOP has their way with the Iranian agreement that President Obama and other countries negotiated, they might also push Iran into the "Nuclear Club" too.

(23,182 posts)He's already worse on voting rights
He's a total traitor to Russia
He's antagonized all of our normal allies and kisses up to dictators
He's taking all the steps Hitler did at this point in his regime
He's killing healthcare for spite
Threatened the most unstable leader in the world and tried to bait him into a nuclear war!!!
That's just what he's done already. What's coming?
False flag operation and suspension of constitution?
Nuclear war (Drumpf is partners in a nuclear development firm and could personally profit from this)?
A grand jury finds him, Jared, Don Dr., and drumpf guilty of colluding to skew an election with a foreign power, he pardons them and himself all and stays in the WH daring the SCOTUS to do anything about it.
BFEE was totally terrible and the worst ever presidency up to that point, but orange assface takes the cake as worst president ever at this point and I'm sure will do everything possible to exceed even these horrible things in the future.

(15,512 posts)yeah, that's how I see it too. Bush/Cheney were War Incorporated, the team from KBR, and Trump is a jerk from NJ who builds hotels and shows a talent for survival that few would have predicted. Kicking Comey to the curb is not something Shrub would have done. B/C were itching to rain bombs and burn villages, knew just how to do it, and did. Trump went to an expensive high school but that's about the extent of his military experience. So things COULD turn ugly fast but I think there's reason to hope they won't.
