That would end very badly. So far the institutions of the U.S. government have held up well against Trump (coupled with the fact that he's got the impulse control of a 2 year old who hasn't heard the word no and so can't stop shooting himself in the foot).

Trump is still the CIC, and the military always follows their chain of command, and they are still working for him. That makes them more aligned with Trump and Republicans than Democrats.
