Seems like his Depends are not the only thing leaking.
Add this to another article of impeachment!

(32,076 posts)When classified information has been properly
marked with a specific date or event for declassification it is not
necessary to issue notices of declassification to any holders.
However, when declassification action is taken earlier than originally
scheduled, or the duration of classification is extended,
the authority making such changes must promptly notify all
holders to whom the information was originally transmitted.
This notification shall include the marking action to be taken,
the authority for the change (name and title), and the effective
date of the change.
From Classifying National Security Information
I'm sure that Herr Trump has promptly notified "all holders to whom the information was originally transmitted."

(52,421 posts)I highly doubt that any court would find against a president that did that, but still, I highly doubt the law permits even the president leaking information that is classified at the time then later declassifying it, or claiming that the act of leaking by a president is an act of declassification.
Foamfollower
(1,097 posts)That's the problem, by putting it out there, it immediately is no longer classified and a president CANNOT be accused of disseminating classified information as that classification begins with the office.
I can guarantee you, if such a ridiculous charge against a president that they leaked classified information ever made it to a court, it would be immediately laughed out!
There are supposed to be political ramifications for such actions, up to an including impeachment and removal from office, but since the age of Trump began there are no longer political consequences for ANY actions.

(1,097 posts)The only way there are any ramifications for his behavior is to retake the House and Senate in 2018.

And when he does hear something during a briefing, he probably doesn't understand its significance or whether it is sensitive information that should be kept secret.

(28,979 posts)but I almost feel sympathy for the two generals trying to hold the white house together. They spent their lives swearing to uphold an oath of allegiance to this nation. I might not agree with their political choices, but I have to believe they know it is not just SNAFU anymore. It's FUBAR.
