Conservatives are arguing that the White House should once again take the press briefings dark after Wednesdays on-camera event turned into a shouting match between a White House aide and members of the media.
White House policy adviser Stephen Miller engaged in a heated back-and-forth with two of the administrations biggest media nemeses CNN and The New York Times provoking some in conservative circles to declare that it was a mistake to give reporters the exposure they crave by broadcasting the daily briefings.
Anyone still want to argue against my position that the White House briefing shouldnt be televised? wrote the well-known conservative blogger Allahpundit at Hot Air.
What happened here is simple: Reporters knew they were going to go toe-to-toe today with one of the few committed nationalists in the White House on the pet issue of the populist right, the one that helped Donald Trump get elected and turned Steve Bannon into a power broker," Allahpundit wrote. "They had to make their opposition plain, if not to the average person watching than at least to their colleagues in the media who would have torched them for not questioning Miller aggressively. This reeks of 'virtue-signaling' even more than it does of standard media bias.

(82,849 posts)You left out the word "white," Allahpundit. You'd think if this delicate little flower was so easily triggered, the White House wouldn't put him up there to get lit up like that. Seems to me you should be mad at Miller, not the reporter who set him off with a simple question. Which caused you more distress: When Miller said "cosmopolitan bias" or "Park Service revisionism"? So inconvenient when the dog whistles get heard like that, isn't it?

(15,805 posts)They can't hide from the fact that Trump and his entire administration is incompetent, No one has had the qualifications to speak in public in a professional capacity either on or off camera. After the last fiasco, they knew that ass couldn't control himself, but they were proud to put him on stage because Trump wanted to see a pissing match.

Calling out cosmopolitan views, the poem was added to Liberty afterwards.
Never did answer the question.
