he asked her who she was voting for, then stepped back as if he shouldn't have said anything, and she said, loud and proud, "I'm going for Al!"

And she was one of Dave's favorite guests.

Although I can hardly live up to her standards, I'm always impressed that she seems to believe that I (and all of her readers) can do things like create giant balls of Christmas tree lights wrapped around twigs and then climb up on a ladder and nail them to 50-foot tall trees. I contrast that very much to Oprah, who's always trying to fix me and tell me what to do better. Martha has faith in me!
