Yes, it sucks to have to include people with bad views on reproductive choice in the big tent. But, the alternative is to let Republicans govern the country with a free hand.
We must be clear-eyed about the country we actually live in, even while hoping for a country that looks better down the road. It won't look better down the road if we can't win elections.

Beyond the question of supporting centrist candidates with less than ideal social attitudes, it is just an interesting view of the electorate.

This chart shocked me when I saw it.

(13,390 posts)It's disappointing, and even infuriating sometimes. But, I am really struck by remembering the pro-life Democrats who maintained the Democratic majority in my state legislature, and how much I miss them.

I certainly am not willing to kiss up to coat hanger types based on a chart.
