Andrea Mitchell is so excited about all the information she got from Feinstein about our inability to really respond to North Korea becAuse we can not track them and their movements underground. It makes it seem that we are sitting ducks. Is there a point where they are reporting too much information? Please tell me that our defenses are top of the line and there are things that neither Feinstein or the public knows and is not available to them. I even hope there are defenses that Drumpf does not know because he might reveal it. What say you?

(67,112 posts)can be sure NK and others are listening carefully. My gut feeling is the military has lots of tools we know nothing of.

Your feeling is totally accurate, RKP5637.

(7,638 posts)that if the soviets launched, they would be destroyed and vice-versa. The premise is that we could not intercept 10000 or more icbms coming at us. This is not true for a few of them. If nk launched a few icbms I am pretty sure we would be able to destroy them on take off or reentry.

(9,291 posts)but with just a secret clearance. If they don't have a need to know, they won't. We, the citizens don't know what we are, or not capable of. It's in our national interest not to release it.
She's doesn't have the full scope. Unless someone actually told Trump and he runs his mouth again, we just have to trust our government to do the heavy lifting. The real government workers.
Can't stress over it, enjoy the day.

(31,134 posts)We sure picked the wrong team to almost elect a complete and total dumbass to the WH
I always say "almost" because he won NEITHER the popular vote or the EC, given on the ground russian kgb agents flipped votes.

(54,256 posts)I had a teeny tiny, bare smidgen of 'something' sort of acquainted with the SR-71 Blackbird reconnaissance plane program.
I can just say that 'we' the U.S. military and CIA were, for a long time, capable of stuff that the general public worldwide had NO idea about.
As much 'dark' money as we give the pentagon, I'm guessing we're still miles ahead of North Korea.

(678 posts)In my experience as a former military aviator, I'm guessing (almost certain) that we have aircraft and weapons systems with capabilities that are known only to the individuals that are operating or managing those systems. To the general public, these weapons do not exist.

(12,693 posts)i am not the least bit worried about the capabilities of the US to defend herself. Dolt 45 and his crew are bunch of blithering idiots, but below him are a whole bunch of really smart motherfuckers.
