Caught a few minutes of C-SPAN,
where Senator Hatch (R-Utah) was blaming the Democrats for dragging their feet on approving Trump's nominees for government appointments.*
Hatch said, when Barack Obama was President, the GOP always quickly approved the nominees Obama requested.
Does the name Merrick Garland (for the Supreme Court) ring a bell?
*Truth is, Trump's been so busy golfing,
he's not put forth many nominees to fill vacancies

Why is Hatch such a fucking liar?
Oh wait, yes, forgot, he is a republican.

(24,456 posts)They can now ram Executive and Judicial nominees through on a party-line vote (and they seem willing to approve anybody Trump sends them), so what's Hatch's excuse again? Maybe it's because, I don't know, Trump can't or won't find anybody to nominate for these positions?
As for his argument that Republicans never held up Obama's nominees? LOLZ. They (Brownback) held up Obama's HHS Secretary in his first term for 3-4 months until the Swine Flu hit. And they held off on approving Lynch for several months too even though they hated Holder. And, yes please, let us speak of Merrick Garland and their theft of a Supreme Court seat for Donald Trump.

Trump is going to hit overdrive in this area. For one, he gets to have others do ALL of the work for him. Doesn't matter if he is golfing or not.
