Do all of those wild hand gestures of Trump's include any "tells" that reveal when he's lying?

Yes, I know, you can tell he's lying if his lips are moving.

But seriously, just as poker players can read the body language of their opponents and know what cards they're holding, maybe all of those crazy gestures that Trump makes as he speaks can be read and used to identify when he's telling what he knows to be a particularly egregious lie.

I'm not a poker player, and beside that I find it extremely difficult to listen to Trump, but maybe someone who's good at reading body language might want to look into this.

1. I've been wondering the same. There's an awful lot going on with him and his body movements.

He lies so much it may be interesting to find a tell where he does not lie.

3. In Trump's case it might be best to look for "tells" when he is telling the truth.

Lying is as natural as breathing.

9. Agree. The deep inhale or the sucking air through his teeth is a dead give away.

It is also annoying as hell. Maybe because we've been subjected to it for some time, but it really aggravates me no end when he does it.

13. No he doesn't, that was the first thing I said in my original post. I don't think he even read it.

11. Two of Trump's tells

If, at the end of a declarative sentence Trump says, "Believe me," he's lying.

Similarly, he'll often say, "That I can tell you." Another lie.

Equally effective at detecting his lies would be to watch his eyes. He has very shifty eyes and when he lies, he doesn't look at the person (or the camera) he's speaking to.

But finally, as Towlie wrote in the OP, when Trump's lips are moving, he's lying. He lies all the time even when it's unnecessary and the truth would be easier. Trump even lies about his lies.

It would be powerful if a reporter were to confront Trump with his lies. Nearly everything he's said has been recorded. Just ask him to reconcile his contrasting positions on abortion, healthcare, LGBTQ rights, the economy, foreign affairs and even about golf!

All politicians lie to some extent. Perhaps most people lie in their own lives. But this man has only one position: everything must be about himself and benefiting him before all others. Hence, he lies even to himself.

Trump is a pathetic, tiny shell of a man. He's also an idiot.

1. If his hands are moving, he's lying.

2. If his hands are not moving, he's lying.
