(11,134 posts)It is not a crime to lie to the media or the public. However, the false press release does demonstrate a consciousness of guilt. The only plausible explanation is that Trump KNEW what the meeting with the Russians was about and KNEW there were at least potentially impeachable (if not criminal) offenses. If Trump knew the purpose of the meeting at the time of the false press release, it is at least possible he knew about the meeting, and its purpose, at the time of the meeting.
What did the President know and when did he know it?
