One can not simultaneously "respect the office of the President" and respect the trans community now (Original Post) ck4829 Jul 2017 OP
That's ludicrous and un-American. I oppose this president and I honor the office of the presidency. FreepFryer Jul 2017 #1

Indeed. This is one of the things that should wake us up to this social problem. ck4829 Jul 2017 #5
There's nothing there to honor. That office is not your friend. ck4829 Jul 2017 #3
No one man (you nor DJT) has the power to make me question my love of Republic. Give it up. (n/t) FreepFryer Jul 2017 #6
Questioning your love of the Republic? I don't doubt your love of the Republic. I doubt that love ck4829 Jul 2017 #8

Maybe we should indeed fundamentally rethink it. ck4829 Jul 2017 #9

No one man should have all that power that we are granting him, now we are seeing a psychotic manchild with that power.

requires respecting and honoring the executive branch.

This office has been completely tainted by Trump, by his 'election' normalizing the alt/far right, by betraying trans soldiers, by putting the interests of the Kremlin ahead of the most disadvantaged of us here and disadvantaged people in Russia, by putting in office a man who has described a billion and a half people as a "problem", and more.

This is my perception that I have of this branch now, of this White House, and that is something I truly want to give up, but I can't now.

Don't let your love of country be a casualty to this incompetent tyrant. You will need it to help defeat him.

Get some perspective, and get back in the fight, there are no do overs, and there will be no Constitutional Convention, nor a revolution.

Our country, right or wrong.

‘The Final Word Is Hooray!’
http://fair.org/take-action/media-advisories/the-final-word-is-hooray/

Remember when all those pundits said the Iraq war was won only two weeks after it started? We've created a cult of personality around the White House, and this is one example of this cult of personality we need to oppose, we can oppose, and we must oppose.

Our country was wrong then, and too many innocent people paid the price... and are still paying it. The trans community will also pay a price for this adulation of Trump and what he says... just because he occupies the Oval Office.

Maybe forums for them where you can talk about destroying all the power the executive branch and the federal government has would be better for you.
