His speech to the NAACP was wonderful, inspiring and truthful. I love that he mentioned that he was "preaching to the choir" and truthfully, I think he was the right guy to speak to that organization on the day after the Romney speech.
He is just great. He is real. And he is fearless. We need more like him on the stump, especially now.
Way to go, Joe!!

(39,451 posts)As the VP Biden was able to go where President Obama would have been criticized.
The President would have to remain "presidential" where Biden could just let it rip....
and he did!!!
At first, I will confess, I thought by President Obama not going said that he was taking this vote for granted.
But now - I get it! They made the right decision.
Biden always speaks from the heart, and that's why he has mine.

(44,583 posts)after all that fuss he made about Obama "snubbing" the NAACP by not planning to show up. By sending Holder to talk about voter disenfranchisement as well as Biden to mop up after Mitt, the "Rope-A-Dope Kid" has struck again!

(4,238 posts)Obama would have certainly received a warm welcome, to which the right would have replied with "well, of course THEY love him." The fact that Joe didn't get booed poo-poos the right's "well, Mitt only got booed because he's white!" crap that Rush and his ilk try to sell to their sheep.

(10,178 posts)I'm in my 60's, and for the first time in my life I ADORE both the President and the Vice President!
I REALLY liked Clinton/Gore and stuck with them to the end. But I LOVE Obama/Biden.
I'm so proud that the Obama family is the first family--they're beautiful and joyful. And I have always loved Joe Biden. What an amazing man (and father!)

(3,836 posts)President Obama and Vice President Biden both can bring tears to my eyes, just because of their sincerity alone.
How long has it been since we could actually take pride in our President and Vice President? I didn't think it could ever happen again.

(47,691 posts)I was thinking the same thing. You can't teach it. Either you have it or you don't. Romney doesn't and never will have it.
He was phenomenal.

I'm sure there are other comparisons, but I'm SO much happier with our current VP!!!

(43,224 posts)That alone makes one of them fucking awesome, and the other one a fucking douchebag.

(3,059 posts)I just finally was able to watch this speech! All I could think of was, go get 'em, Joe!! He is so real, and that's what scares some Dem strategists...his "gaffes" are the stuff of legend. However, I think the average guy out there understands all that, it's actually part of what makes him human and real. Compare this speech to Rmoney's yesterday. Joe has passion about the things that he knows are important to the rest of us. Hell, he was damn near preaching! Rmoney looked like a wind-up doll who was reading a speech, aimed at another audience altogether.
And those pundits (are you listening, Wolf?) who knocked Obama for not going to this convention, are totally clueless. Obama couldn't have delivered this speech...the same pundits (are you listening now, Wolf?) would have blasted him for pandering. Just like they're praising Mitt for "going into the lion's den."
Are there any shots of the audience available? That I'd like to see, just for comparison reasons, of course!
